Mis dos voces

We invited Lina Rodríguez to select a film for our Champ libre series. She chose Maurice Pialat’s À nos amours, currently playing.

Marinela, Ana and Claudia are three Latin American immigrants in Canada. One after the other, exchanging words without ever being in direct conversation, they share their experiences, their memories and the many challenges they faced before, during and after their immigration process.

Images of their daily lives, sometimes contemplative or more intimate, captured in 16mm format, are superimposed on the voices that paint a portrait of their resilience and the intersections of their journeys. Mis dos voces takes the form of a sensitively constructed impressionistic poem about the ebb and flow of the immigrant experience of Latin American women in Canada.
