At the tumbledown Hotel Termas, 16-year-old Amalia, in her youthful mystical spark and sexual awakening, begins a religious quest to absolve a man that has sexually approached her. In this second feature, Martel privileges the marginal perspective of female adolescents in provincial Argentina to thread a metaphysical reflection on transgressive desire and twisted religious faith.
