Je, tu, il, elle

As part of our collaboration with artist Julie Delporte, who put together a program of four films, all directed by women, and designed a poster for each one. The April 1st screening will be followed by a discussion between Julie Delporte and filmmaker Sophie Bédard-Marcotte.

In her provocative first feature film, shot when she was 24, Chantal Akerman plays a young, aimless woman who leaves her self-imposed isolation to embark on a journey that takes her on lonely adventures with a truck driver and a former girlfriend. With its real-time carnal encounter and bold minimalism, Je, tu, il, elle is one of Akerman’s most beautiful films.
