Une femme respectable
Trois-Rivières, 1930s. A woman separated from her husband of eleven years agrees, out of charity, to take him back into her home on the death of her concubine, on condition that she does not resume married life. Her husband brings with him three young daughters from his second marriage. Madame Lemay becomes attached to the three children, but life with her husband becomes increasingly difficult. Madame Lemay is still attracted to this seductive but unstable man, who eventually abandons her again, leaving her three daughters behind.
