Somewhere in a jungle in northern Thailand, a child sits amidst debris and reads us a fairy tale of her own invention. Smiling and playful, Sukwan takes us with her to the island of Snowyaland, an earthly paradise for children where only she knows the place and its inhabitants.
An ode to the power of imagination, Sukwan’s Island confronts us with a buried desire to still believe in the magic of childhood, and the sad discovery of the disappointing reality of the adult world.
