Les filles d'Olfa

Olfa is the mother of four daughters, whom she has raised single-handedly with an iron fist. After a troubled adolescence, the eldest daughters have disappeared, devoured by the wolf: they have joined Daech. Director Kaouther Ben Hania then calls on two actresses and provokes the ultimate confrontation, that of Olfa and her daughters, but also that of the woman with her own demons. Thanks to a skilful device halfway between reality and fiction, the director’s unsettling and audacious proposal exposes the intimate wounds of a patriarchal violence whose workings have yet to be deconstructed.
