A lawyer’s wife, Bernadette Brown, leaves home to live in the country with her young son Yannick. Imbued with naturist and libertarian theories, she strives to apply them in a life close to nature, much to the astonishment of Thomas Carrufel, her practical and protesting farmer neighbor. Around Bernadette, a small community of old men, children and vagabonds gathers, bringing to light the extraordinary within ordinary people.
