On Planet Ygam live intelligent creatures with blue skin, the Draags. They have adopted as pets smaller beings, the Oms, descendants of a few couples brought back from a distant and devastated planet. Laloux’s depiction of humans as pets of the gigantic Draags is a reflection on intelligence, society, politics and human nature.

A bewitching masterpiece of science fiction and animation, René Laloux’s film was a small revolution when it was released in 1973 and quickly became a cult classic. Fifty years later, the movie remains a dreamlike, meditative and reflective journey, not to be missed on the big screen!

Screening organised with the support of the Institut français and in collaboration with Fantasia Festival.
