Germaine Lauzon is the lucky winner of boxes of stamps. She gathers sisters-in-law, neighbours and friends to help her glue her stamps into her booklets. Hosanna realizes her fabulous desire to transform herself into Cleopatra for a contest at the transvestite cabaret she frequents. She is unaware that someone has set a trap for her, with the complicity of Cuirette, to take revenge on her and make her look ridiculous. While Hosanna is humiliated, Germaine Lauzon has her stamps stolen, both betrayed by their supposed friends. The two-way concert narrative is a dark and powerful evocation of human impasse.

Based on some of Michel Tremblay’s plays, intertwining stories set in the neighbourhoods of St-Laurent Street (known as the “Main”) and the Plateau Mont-Royal, in Montreal.
