Listening session
Élevé dans la brume
Élevé dans la brume is an immersive sound journey that bears witness to the crab and lobster fishing season in the small village of Tête-à-la-Baleine on the Lower North Shore. Every year, the melting of the ice in the Gulf of St. Lawrence heralds the arrival of a new fishing season. The dices are cast. Experience the highs and lows of the season alongside the fishermen of this village accessible only by boat and plane.
Followed by a screening of Tête-à-baleine (Renée Bonnière and Pierre Perrault, 1960, 30′)
Shows Tête-à-la-Baleine, Québec, a village with a double life–one on the North Shore mainland during winter months, the other on mossy islands of the Gulf to which the entire population moves for summer fishing. (NFB)
