Chien blanc
In 1968, on a stormy evening, Romain Gary, Consul General of France in Los Angeles, takes in a stray German shepherd. To please his son Diego, he keeps the seemingly docile animal. But, a few days later, when a young African-American man he has taken under his wing visits him, the animal goes into a rage. No doubt about it, it is a “White Dog”, a dog trained by the whites in the South of the United States to attack the blacks. Jean, an actress involved in the fight for African-American civil rights and Gary’s wife, demands that the beast be killed. But her husband insists that he be rehabilitated. He makes it a personal fight. The animal is therefore entrusted to Keys, an African-American trainer.
