Badlands
A story of crime and passion that begins in a small and aimless American town, as a young teenager falls in love with an older boy. A conflict degenerates into fire and bloodshed, and the young lovers are forced to embark on a frantic, murderous escapade through the arid Badlands. The sublime strangeness of Malick’s cinema begins here with Badlands, his first film. It’s a lyrical and violent odyssey, dark and dazzling, which left its mark on audiences in the 70s.
