Regards palestiniens: Returns

country:
Palestine, Tunisia
language:
Arabic
subtitles:

In lieu of visually reproducing the genocide in Gaza as a spectacle of violence, we focus on remembering through testimony: moments of boredom, anguish over limitations, reveling in music, being on the beach, and caring for community. For this opening night, we gather to witness everyday life resist the occupation.

GAZAN TALES

Mahmoud Nabil Ahmed
2024 – Palestine, Tunisia – 82 min

Mahmoud Nabil Ahmed presents a touching chronicle of four men in the Gaza Strip. The result is an unflinching, yet tender glimpse of ordinary life under siege, which has since become a time capsule in hindsight. Completed on the eve of October 7 2023, this documentary may also be one of the last testimonies from the Gaza Strip before the intensification of the genocide. As these men navigate existential angst and precarity, small graces reveal decades of collective survival and endurance at play.
