Retour à Normétal

On the occasion of a fishing trip, the members of the Lachapelle family return for the first time to the small mining town located at the extreme north of Abitibi where they were born. In 55 years, and following the closure of the mine that sustained the town, the village has changed a lot, but the journey to rediscover the essence of the stories that shaped this family has just begun.

Between a road movie and a family film, “Return to Normétal” is both a journey through the territory, a journey through time, and, more generally, an incursion into the heart of Quebec’s history.
