Enticed by the idea of staging a modern version of the Passion and embodying the character of Jesus, Daniel sets out to find actors willing to leave everything behind to follow him… Superimposed on the story of Christ is a discourse on consumer society, the creation of the universe and the meaning of life. “The film questions the place and role of the actor, and hence the place and role of art in our society, just as much as it seems to put the mythical figure of Christ into perspective”. (Loose translation, Gilles Marsolais, 1989)
