As if from atop the majestic Rocher Percé-a ship of stone washed ashore-this film takes an innovative look at the nature, culture and history of the Gaspésie region. “Two parts geology and one part magic,” the story centres on this rock’s influence over fishermen, geologists, poets and botanists alike. Some 1,000 kilometres from Montréal as the crow flies, it is a focal point of Quebec identity, entering the history books along with the village art centre and the Maison du Pêcheur.
